Brynne + Ben | Downtown Hamilton Engagement Session | Moments -by Lauren

Here’s a perfect cap to your week, pals! A walk through downtown, a beer and a glowy rooftop sunset to lead you into your weekend!

I had such a blast with Brynne + Ben who have me loving winter engagement sessions SO much. There were definitely a couple spots I had in mind for their session, but I love when I can just stroll through a city with my clients and it feels like we’re just hanging out and snapping a few frames along the way. (That’s totally how you normally hang out, right?!)

Check out a few faves, and some of the shenanigans we got up to below!

Carleigh + James | Burlington - Sunshine Donuts Engagement Session | Moments -by Lauren

This session started with us running to catch the sunrise and it ended with donuts - so I say it was overall pretty perfect. There was also a whole lot of adorable in between.

Check out a few faves from Carleigh + James' epic engagement session in downtown Burlington.

Which is YOUR fave?! This was my narrowed down list.

Brittany + Dan | Guelph Lake Engagement Session | Moments -by Lauren

Ahhh, it feels good to be back to blogging! I have so much to catch you all up on!!

First up - Brit + Dan - who could not have been more fun to hang out with as we strolled the paths at Guelph Lake a couple months ago on what was definitely the warmest day in April. With absolutely nothing to block us from the insane wind that was going on that night, these two were up for whatever I threw their way and we pretty much laughed our way through the entire session!

These guys are so fun-loving that our little hike through the trail felt just like we were old pals catching up -- mainly joking about the absolutely terrible shoe choice by yours truly. (whoops!)

I'm heading back up highway 6 for their big day later this summer and if you know these guys - you know it'll be a party. Stay tuned.

Rosaline + David | Toronto Engagement Photographer | Moments -by Lauren

One of my favourite parts about getting to know my couples is finding out how they originally met…and it blows my mind when their paths seem so unlikely to have ever crossed. Rosaline grew up in France and David in Peru. They met in Toronto at Rosaline’s first day of work, which sounds like it could have only ever happened in a romantic comedy.

Fast forward through two and a half years and the sweetest proposal at Mount Tremblant, this duo is planning their March wedding and I’m so happy I get to tag along for all the fun.

If I can tell you one thing about this duo…it’s that they sure make Sunday morning sessions look easy.

p.s. You'd never be able to tell, but it was pretty cold and Rosa + David were such troopers. When we starting strolling the beach we saw a whole group of people who were scuba diving (!!!!)...we agreed that things could have been worse for us. Haha!

Zoe + Jay | Burlington Engagement Photographer | Moments –by Lauren

Man, oh man… get ready to be killed by these smiles.

A little bit of a backstory – I knew Jay in Highschool and I got to know his lovely bride to be when we sat down to chat all things wedding photography! Going into this session I knew it was going to be a good time but I think after the first set of frames it was basically a done deal. The camera loves these two. Jay is a total joker and in combination with Zoe’s laugh, these two are just infectious.

There was no shortage of some good old “lol’s” and these two were up for anything as we breezed through the park – which we basically had to ourselves (score!). Take a peek through a few frames and probably my favourite laugh sequence ever.

Liz + Mike | At Home Engagement Photographer | Moments –by Lauren

When I first heard from Liz + Mike, I remember thinking that the plans they had for their wedding day sounded pretty awesome (…their reception is being held at an art gallery)! We met, we hit it off, and they booked me in for their day (*happy dance*). When we got around to planning their engagement session and they suggested doing part of it “at home” and wanted to know my thoughts – I knew at that moment that these two were just doing things right. As I may have already mentioned, it’s totally been on my bucket list to shoot a fun and comfy at home session and I was SO pumped to check this off!

We cuddled up at their place before popping outside and strolling through the park across the street at sunset. The plan all along was to head back inside to cap off the session on their balcony and once you hit the last couple images you’ll see why.

Katie + Sam | Waterdown Engagement Photographer | Moments –by Lauren

The one thing I can (unfortunately) never control is the weather. Often times when scheduling sessions with clients we do it well in advance and have no idea what the forecast will be calling for that day – we just hope for the best! That brings us to Katie + Sam’s session, that we had to reschedule FOUR TIMES. Mother nature was not feeling their initial summer dates…at all.

I felt terrible, but we all had our heart set on going back to the same spot Sam proposed, at Smokey Hollow. Finally, we had some clouds in the forecast but no rain…so we were all set.

Katie + Sam were the sweetest duo ever. They hiked up and down the trails, over the rocks in the water, across a busy roadway and anything else that I asked - Katie in heels, no less.   [#troopers]

When we wrapped at our first location and headed to our second, the clouds definitely started to roll in and I figured we had enough great stuff in case it did start to rain. We quickly hopped back in the car after about 10 minutes on this secluded road, off to where I wanted to finish the session. I drove for probably about 15 seconds in the opposite direction my camera had been pointed and immediately pulled over, now seeing the massive double rainbow that was right behind me. I’m sure the confusion of this abrupt stop only added to all my crazy requests from the last hour – but Katie + Sam were just as excited as I was.

No only did we get the rainbow, but we also got the sun to peak through in our wrap spot. Some things are just worth waiting for I guess.

Lujain + Bryan | Brantford Airport Engagement Photography | Moments -by Lauren

I love it when my couples are up for something different. Lujain, Bryan and I ran through a few options when we started chatting about their engagement session and we found something a little outside the box that all three of us were pretty pumped about.

It’s not every day you get to take over a runway, and the Airport in Brantford certainly didn’t disappoint… we truly had our run of the place. Lets put this killer backdrop aside for a second though, and discuss how Lujain + Bryan completely stole the show. I seriously couldn’t get enough of how much fun they have together, how much they can kick back and how they can bring out those smiles in each other.

“What smiles?” you may ask. Take a peek at some of my favourite frames… That second shot was literally the 7th shutter click of the session. (…come on, right?!)

They’re getting hitched this Sunday and I have a sneaking suspicion those smiles might make another appearance.

Mariah + Cory | Hamilton Engagement Photographer | Moments -by Lauren

This blog post is long overdue…but also comes officially two weeks before Mariah + Cory get hitched! (cue the excitement!)

I didn’t know this duo before they came to meet me on their hunt for a wedding photographer, but man have we hit it off since then. They are so easy to talk to, to laugh along with and of course, to have in front of the lens as you’ll see in a minute.  Back in May, the three of us (and their adorable pup, Paisley) hit up the waterfront trail to grab a few frames in a spot they often go for walks. Paisley was SO excited to be in front of the camera that she quickly got her fill in before we moved up to Albion Falls for a little variety.

After hanging out by the waterfall for a bit, Cory told me how the session was “actually a lot of fun” right before we wrapped. Coming from a Groom, it’s the exact way to become my instant favourite, haha. All kidding aside, I’m so excited to join their big day in a couple of weeks, and might even force them to hang out with me in the future too. They are definitely one of those couples you just want to grab a beer with.

14 more days!

Alex + Chris | Artscape Wynchwood Barns Engagement | Moments -by Lauren

We’re just 30 days out from Alex + Chris saying their “I Do’s” and I think that’s as good a time as any to share a few faves from their December engagement session.  With the chilly temperatures the week before Christmas, we found a killer venue in downtown Toronto and shot most of the session in the main hallway of Artscape Wynchwood Barns – baring the cold and popping outside for about 3 minutes at a time so we wouldn’t have to bundle up. (A great team decision by the three of us...)

This athletic-as-heck duo met at our Alma Mater while playing on their respective varsity sports teams and 6 years later got engaged in an adorable at-home fashion that involved the assistance of Alex’s niece – a story that is sure to make anyone swoon. They’ll walk down the aisle and celebrate with their nearest and dearest in Niagara-on-the-Lake next month…where there definitely won’t be any snow on the ground.

The smiles on these two… I’m obsessed.

Liz + Justin | Hamilton Engagement Photographer | Moments -by Lauren

I know I’m all about the epic love stories on the blog lately, so why should this one be any different? I remember learning early on in our communication that Liz + Justin got engaged at the airport…and I believe my initial response was that I HAD to meet them if only to hear this story. Needless to say we immediately hit it off after hearing that amazing surprise proposal story (it happened while waiting to check in for their European vacation) and gushing over our mutual love of everything #HamOnt.

When it came to planning their engagement session, it was a total no-brainer. We spent an afternoon hitting a few of their favourite spots. The three of us started off with a round of coffee at Saint James and wrapped over a couple of beers at Collective Arts Brewery…oh, and threw in a few photos here and there too.

Liz + Justin immediately felt like two of my longest friends and even gave me a few more hot-spots I had to try both in the city and abroad! They are tying the knot this June and I think that I’ve almost convinced them that when they renew their vows somewhere in Europe in the future…that I’ll be tagging along!

Angela + Alex | Burlington Engagement Photographer | Moments -by Lauren

If you can believe it, Angela + Alex grew up just a few hours from each other here in Ontario, but didn’t meet until they were both in London, England.  I know, right…their love story starts like any good romantic movie.  (They have all the makings of a full plot, but I'll save a story or two for their wedding post!)

Fast forward about 5 years and they are getting ready to say their “I do’s” this coming July.  Of course, knowing this duo for years now, we have totally shared some laughs but getting to document their relationship first hand was truly such a blast.

Dodging some raindrops as we strolled the Burlington waterfront, Ange + Alex killed their session almost as much as they killed their wardrobe choices.  They danced on the dock, met a few animals along the trail and were just so effortlessly adorable together it was so hard to narrow down this blog post.

Take a peek at a few of my faves below.

Meaghan + Jeff | Toronto Engagement Photographer | Moments -by Lauren

I met these two sweethearts on the morning of our engagement session...while it was still dark out...in what seemed like a very cold temperature at the time. Of course, fast forwarding a couple months as we count down to their big day, it was probably suitable T-shirt weather that we would all kill for right about now haha!

Nonetheless Meaghan and Jeffrey were just amazing from the first click of the shutter until we finished gabbing over coffee to wrap the session!

They actually live in our Nation's Capitol but were back in Toronto to visit some family and cross a few things off their wedding to-do list at the same time. After narrowing down some options, the three of us strolled not only the waterfront but also popped over to Kensington Market for something a little different! We got so much variety in terms of backdrops as we chatted our way through the city but the one thing that stayed the same was the fun this duo has together. I mean...I can't get over some of these smiles. Swoon.

25 more days until #KearnsyMarriesMeag - stay tuned everyone!
